1.6 million kg of dirt dumped inside Staples Center ahead of full-capacity Monster Jam truck event

One hundred truckloads of dirt began to be dumped onto the grounds of the Los Angeles-based Staples Centre stadium on Thursday ahead of a series of Monster Jam events this weekend.

Monster Jam is a famous non-sports entertainment event that involves impressive 12,000-pound (5,443 kilograms) 4x4 ‘monster’ trucks performing stunts as they compete through challenges of versatility and endurance.

The dirt being hauled into the stadium totals 3.5 million pounds (1.6 million kilograms).

According to the organisers, the event is set to be the first of its kind to return to the stadium at full capacity, with “enhanced health and safety measures implemented for fan wellness.”
