3 Orphan Manatees get Weighed - Cincinnati Zoo

The three manatees that arrived at our rehab facility in November are doing great and gaining weight! The vet staff and manatee team weighed them for the first time since their arrival last week, and they are each well on their way to reaching the 600-pound target weight. Our goal, as a @ManateeRescueRehabilitationPartnership (MRP) second stage rehabilitation facility, is to get the rescued manatees that we care for to a healthy weight so they can return to Florida and be released back into native waters. @CincinnatiZoo has rehabilitated 26 manatees since 1999, including current residents Calliope, Piccolina, and Soleil.
