Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RDM) hosted one of the world’s biggest live-fire demonstrations on the Denel Overberg Test Range in the Southern Cape: the RDM Ammunition Capability Demonstration 2019 (ACD2019). More than 800 guests from some 65 countries witnesses Rheinmetall’s capabilities and RDM’s firepower via the South African National Defence Force’s (SANDF) defence equipment, which included two GRIPEN and one HAWK aircraft, three helicopters and numerous land vehicles including the SANDF Special Forces “Recce” HORNET vehicle firing 120mm rockets, one OLIFANT Mk1A and Mk2 and an impressive 127mm BATALEUR barrage.
