SOT, Qadir Shah Zadran, Money exchange dealer (Pashto): “I am very happy that the markets reopened recently. All have been affected because the dollar was 95.00. We sell goods, and believe me, It has been affected a lot during the past 15 or 20 days.”
SOT, Qadir Shah Zadran, Money exchange dealer (Pashto): “We demand from the government to control the dollars and to not let its rate rise. The former government, which was Ashraf Ghani’s government, they used to distribute dollars and they used to collect Afghanis.”
SOT, Taliban member (Pashto): “I am going to assure you that like this, all the markets including the money exchange dealers and the banks have been reopened now, thank God they are in safety, it is a secured environment. I assure the common people can do their job as confidently [as before]. By God willing, we are serving you, and to live in peaceful environment. There are no kidnappers and there is no one to steal, and no one can argue with anyone. We are here to defend people.”
SOT, Haji Dadgul, Head of the money exchange dealer union (Pashto): “We have a little bit of a problem now with the US dollars [located] in private banks, and that money it’s related to the money exchange dealers facing problems [but] we are hopeful, as the Da Afghanistan Bank promised us that this problem will be solved as soon as possible.”
SOT, Haji Dadgul, Head of the money exchange dealer union (Pashto): “And there are millions of dollars, or, if they say, hundreds of dollars that may have possibilities but let’s not mention only money exchange dealers but the [whole] Afghanistani private sector. Traders, labourers, businessmen, Mandawi market and common people, generally, all people have been affected, it is not referred to just one party. Although the most damage received by the private sector includes the money exchange dealers union, and money exchange dealers are suffering.”
