Afghanistan: Smoke rises near Kabul airport following US drone strike

A plume of smoke could be seen rising near Kabul airport on Sunday after an explosion.

The blast was later confirmed to be the result of a US drone strike targeting a vehicle with suspected suicide bombers.

The incident comes after a warning from US President Joe Biden that more attacks were imminent near the airport following the suicide bombing on Thursday which killed nearly 200 people including 13 US servicemen.
