Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been ordered to pay over $4 million in damages for spreading disinformation about the Sandy Hook School shootings.

The owner of the far-right ‘Infowars’ website had repeatedly used his platform to reject the massacre as a hoax.

On his show, Jones repeatedly argued that the shooting was organised by the US government and that the parents of the dead children were “crisis actors”.

The parents of one of the 6-year-old boy that died that day sued him for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
