It is rare for antelopes to give birth to twins, and it is even rarer for them to give birth to Siamese twins. But an antelope mom has just given birth to a Siamese twin at a animal theme park near Chongqing in southwest China. All has fared well for the antelope mom who has already given birth to and raised up eight antelopelings. But the ninth birth on Monday has first caused straits and then surprises and lastly stresses. "Its feet came out first but its head would not follow. We did not know the reason for sure until we pulled it out only to find that it has two heads," says He Chenchuan, an antelope care-taker at the Yongchuan Leheledu Wildlife World. It is a great pity to all that the newborn antelope died soon after birth. Post-mortem studies may shed light onto the two-headed and two-tailed antelope.
