Gil Pereg’s Lawyer Maximiliano Legrand talked to the press to make a case for his defendant after he was ejected from a Mendoza court for meowing on Tuesday.

“It is very difficult for him to participate in the hearings, that is why the judge has made a decision that seems very wise to me that is very fair and reasonable for Gil Pereg to follow the trial from a different room where he is isolated,” said the lawyer after Pereg, nicknamed ‘Catman’ was ejected from a trial where he stands accused of killing his mother and Aunt back in 2019.

SOT, Maximiliano Legrand, Gil Pereg’s Lawyer (Spanish): “Pereg has a mental illness which makes him unfit to stand trial, at the very least there are mitigating circumstances, which will raise if he goes to trial.”

SOT, Maximiliano Legrand, Gil Pereg’s Lawyer (Spanish): “Who did it? We cannot confirm because Pereg has never told us if he did it or if he did not do it so we cannot confirm it. If there is evidence then it is up to the prosecutor to prove it.”
