Footage filmed on Tuesday shows Iranian citizens standing in long queues to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in one of the mobile vaccination points in Yerevan.
“We don’t have a vaccination in Iran. For the vaccination some people in Iran transfer to Armenia for the vaccine. Armenia very good satisfies for the vaccination,” said Iranian visitor Amir.
According to the Armenian Health Ministry’s press secretary, Hripsime Khachatryan, not only Iranians but citizens from other countries can come to Armenia to get vaccinated.
Khachatryan announced the introduction of some changes in the process of foreign citizens’ vaccination.
After an order by acting Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, only those foreigners who spend 10 or more days in Armenia will be able to be vaccinated, starting on Thursday.
The ministry has not released statistics specific to Iranian visitors receiving vaccines.
