Iranian soldiers were seen taking part in joint naval drills involving the Chinese and Russian military in the Indian Ocean, in footage released on Friday.
Soldiers were seen taking part in exercises involving helicopters, warships, dinghies and other equipment.
According to the Iranian navy, the drills, referred to as the ‘Combined exercise of the Maritime Security Belt 2022’, are meant to establish the security of maritime commerce in the northern Indian Ocean as well as better coordination and closer relations between regional and trans-regional navies.
