The Russian railway echelon delivered an anti-aircraft division “Pantsir-С” to the unloading station in Belarus, the Russian Ministry of Defence press service reported on Saturday.
Before unloading the division, Belarusian servicemen greeted the Russian military with bread and salt.
The redeployed division consists of 12 combat vehicles, each of which can carry 12 anti-aircraft missiles.
According to the department, after unloading the personnel will march to the specified areas, where they will carry out a set of measures for the engineering equipment of positions.
The servicemen will also take part in air defence combat training duty as part of the Unified Regional Air Defence System of Belarus and Russia.
As it was noted in the department, the test of the reaction forces of the Union State will take place in two stages, the first of which will last until February 9.
During this time, relocation and creation of groupings of troops on the territory of Belarus, organising the protection of state and military facilities and the air border of the Union State, will be carried out.
At the second stage, which will be held from February 10 to 20, it is planned to conduct joint exercises “Allied Resolve - 2022”, the ministry noted.
The Russian and Belarusian military will work out the tasks of suppressing external aggression and combating terrorism, in particular, blocking the channels for the delivery of weapons and ammunition, as well as destroying illegal armed formations and sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
