Best cable tie (zip tie) brand? Cable ties tested: Thomas & Betts, Panduit, Gardner Bender, ACT, Store House (Harbor Freight) and Strong Ties. Stainless Steel cable ties tested: HYCC, Gardner Bender and Store House (Harbor Freight). I purchased the cable ties tested over a year ago and split up the cable ties into 2 groups. Group 1 did not experience sunlight (ultraviolet). Group 2 did experience sunlight for the past year. UV exposure did have a big impact on the cable ties. To add some fun to the testing, the zip ties along with JB Weld were used to hold a cylinder head onto an engine without using cylinder head bolts to see how long the engine would run. Also, the strongest stainless steel cable tie was tested to see if just 1 cable tie would support the weight of a small pickup truck. Thanks again and best regards, Todd
