Swallowing 16 pounds and 12 ounces (7.6 kilogrammes) of pumpkin pie, Joey Chestnut of Indiana, who ranks as the number one competitive eater in the Major League Eating, won the 2021 World Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship in Jeffersonville, Ohio.

“Going against Joey Chestnut is like going against Michael Jordan in a game of twenty-one so, today we’re gonna try to get a few points in, I’m realistic, anytime you can go against the greatest ever in your sport, hey, this is good memories right here,” said Bartley Weaver, a Ranked Competitive Eater.

The Destination Outlets hosted the 2021 World Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship, where a total of 11 male and female competitors contested for a $2,000 first-place prize.

Although it’s more than most people could eat, Chestnut failed to break the world record, coming just 4 pounds short, but the competitor said he would be back. “I’m surprised I don’t hold the record, I’m gonna come back next year and break the record,” he said.
