Chinese business tycoon Jack Ma has not been seen or heard from since criticising the Chinese state’s financial system, fuelling fears that he may be missing.

The e-commerce and tech mogul said at a summit in October that the country’s banks operate with a “pawnshop” mentality.

Some believe Ma’s comments - in addition to his vast personal wealth - may have put him on a collision course with the Chinese Communist Party.
