Cisco is a blind dog. He was abandoned when he went blind and spent a lot of time in shelters. His eyes were bulging and red and he probably looked insane. So nobody wanted him. He overstayed his welcome in shelters and was going to be put down. A rescue pulled him out and they put him with a foster family. We were looking for a dog like him and his listing just stayed up on Petfinder.

And so we thought, well, we’ll go and meet him and just see what he’s like. And his foster mom just rolled a ball in the grass and he chased right after it, following the sound. Cisco’s humans adopted him in 2015. So he is completely fearless. And he runs after sounds. He can chase the ball. He can chase the dog. He has a great life. And he’s just a great little buddy.

Unfortunately in 2017, he developed glaucoma and it was no longer able to be controlled by eyedrops. So his eyes had to be removed so he could be pain free. So now he has no eyes and he is happy and comfortable. And most of the people we meet don’t even know that he’s blind. Cause he walks confidently straight ahead of me. We have two blind dog signs on him and most people don’t even read them because they’re not even looking. They don’t notice anything that’s different about him.
