Hundreds of refugees and migrants, mostly from Asian and African countries, are stuck in a makeshift camp in Velika Kladusa in western Bosnia and Herzegovina. Footage filmed at the camp on Thursday highlight the difficult living conditions.

The tents are made of nylon and sticks. Migrants do not have access to a doctor, nor do they have electricity, enough food, water or basic living conditions.

“There is no organisation to take care of people. But we cannot be in camp because we are going to other European countries. The camp cannot protect people or their families. It is not ideal. I don’t know what to say. It is too bad here,” said Iranian migrant Vahid.

The border of Croatia and entry to the European Union is less than two kilometres away from the site. Many of the migrants only want to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina before winter arrives.

SOT, Rahmad, Migrant from Afghanistan: “We need everything. As you see we live in a tent. The situation is so terrible. No food, no shower, no bathroom, no toilet, no food.”
