Vaccination of up to 2,000 migrants and refugees kicked off in the Lipa migrant camp near Bihac on Thursday.
During last week’s survey, around 260 inhabitants of this camp gave their consent and the vaccination is carried out by the medical staff of the Bihac Health Center. According to the Health ministry, the Oxford’s Astra Zeneca vaccine is the one available.
“The vaccination of the inhabitants of camp Lipa is of utmost importance, as they are known to come in close contact with the local population of the city of Bihac. Our hope is that with our efforts we’re going to help reduce the risk of infection and spread of the Delta variant both amongst the inhabitants and the local population,” said local doctor Haris Henic.
