Palmeiras fans bid farewell to their squad in Sao Paulo on Wednesday, as the team bus left the training ground to the city’s international airport ahead of the Libertadores final.
The defending champion faces Brazilian rival Flamengo in Montevideo, Uruguay on Saturday for the continent’s biggest trophy.
Fans could be seen waving giant flags, setting off green flares and chasing the bus down Sao Vicente avenue in Sao Paulo’s west region.

SOT, Felipe, Supporter of Palmeiras (Portuguese): “The emotion here is huge, there’s no way to explain it, Palmeiras makes us change change places, I’m coming from far away… This is Palmeiras, Palmeiras is vibration, Palmeiras is grit, Palmeiras is love! I love you Palmeiras!”

SOT, Marcos, Supporter of Palmeiras (Portuguese): “The biggest national champion [heading] towards the third [Libertadores title], it is for a few. There were many years of suffering, now it’s redemption! Palmeiras three-time champion.”

The farewell rally was called by Mancha Verde, Palmeiras’ most popular ultras.
