Brixton: Illegal Street Party Descends into Chaos in London with 22 Police Officers Injured

Twenty-two police officers have been injured after a street party in Brixton, South London, descended into violence and chaos.

Footage of the scene also shows police cars being smashed up and officers retreating from crowds charging at them with makeshift weapons.

Police said officers were met by a “hostile” crowd as they tried to break up an illegal party on Cecilia Road near the Angell Town estate.

Four people have been arrested following the incident, and remain in police custody. Two officers required hospital treatment.
