Russia has pounded Kyiv and cities across Ukraine with air strikes for the first time in months.

Casualty figures are unlikely to certain for some time, but several deaths were reported in the explosion in the Ukrainian capital’s Shevchenkivskyy district.

The wave of attacks comes two days after the only bridge connecting Russia with occupied Crimea was damaged in an explosion.

Officials urged people not to photograph or film missile landing sites or damaged infrastructure, but images of the destruction quickly emerged online.
