Californians Treated to Magical Show of Bioluminescent Waves

The residents of Monterey Bay in California were treated to a display of bioluminescent waves on Thursday night.
The glowing waves are produced by plant plankton called dinoflagellates. According to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the agitation of trillions of dinoflagellates in large blooms produces the blue lights.
