Torrential rain in British Columbia caused huge floods, the second weather catastrophe in a few months since the devastating blaze caused by high heats last June.

Aggressive mudslides have hit motorways, heavily damaging them, leaving dozens stranded and triggering the evacuation of the town of Merrit, situated 200 km northeast from Vancouver.
