64-year-old resident of Novokuznetsk Svetlana Sanarova caught a young child falling from second floor window in Republic of Karelia on July 21.

After returning him to his parents, the silent hero left without even sharing her name.

“I didn’t think about any risk. I was only afraid that he would die. And then I worried about what happened to him, until I read in the newspaper that he got away with only minor bruises,” explained Sanarova.

Police officers were trying to find the brave lady through media and social networks to reward her. She finally got in touch on Tuesday July 27.

“While I was still walking, I noticed him while walking along the road. And here, well, I quickly reacted. I didn’t know what to do, but what to do? If I don’t catch him now, he will die in front of my eyes, I must run to catch it. It would be worse if he fell to his death so I ran,” stated Sanarova
