A Ceres-1 launch vehicle launched three satellites from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, Gansu Province, northwest China, on 9 August 2022, at 04:11 UTC (12:11 local time). Ceres-1 (谷神星一号) is a small solid propellant launch vehicle developed by Galactic Energy (星河动力) to carry a payload of up to 350 kg to low Earth orbit (LEO). According to official sources, the satellites were successfully placed into the planned orbits. “Two satellites will provide commercial remote sensing services and the third one will be used to verify the multi-mode remote sensing technology of the polarization camera”.
