On December 5, 2013 the Schemel Forum hosted William O'Neill, Lawyer in Humanitarian, Human Rights and Refugee Law; Director, Conflict Prevention & Peace Forum in NYC. The lecture is about the role of peace-keeping forces and how that role has changed since the Cold War. Modern peacekeeping is multi-faceted; it is no longer just a military intervention. It is now a military, political, legal and humanitarian effort that focuses on the protection of civilians--in particular internally displaced people and their overall well-being.
