Croatian police searched through sections of the Dragonja river on Thursday night as a search is still ongoing for a 10-year-old girl who disappeared in the swollen river.

On Thursday night a group of migrants tried to cross the Croatian-Slovenian border, resulting in the child getting lost, local police confirmed on Friday.

The police said that the mother of the missing girl had already been rescued from the river. Furthermore, a document found during the search confirmed that the child was also disabled.
