Cuba: Santeria priests present annual prophesy for new year in Havana

Cuba’s Yoruba Cultural Association in Havana presented the traditional annual letter with the prophesy from Santeria priests on Sunday, giving advice for the new year.
Locals came to the entrance of the association’s building in Prado Promenade, where the annual letter was displayed with copies distributed. Meanwhile, priests spoke to journalists at a press conference.
“We are calling for understanding between Cuban and foreign authorities to take into consideration that is time for dialogue and understanding migrants situation,” said Yoruba cultural association member Enrique Machin.
The traditional annual letter contained advice such as to exercise patience and serenity, to avoid arrogance and bad manners, and to pay attention to hygiene and health measures to avoid the spread of contagious diseases.

SOT, Maykel Lopez, Yoruba cultural association member (Spanish): “Patience and serenity are recommended to face problems in life. We must be humble and simple, avoid arrogance and bad manners. Is recommended to watch out for hygiene and health measures in order to avoid the spread of contagious diseases and to favour migratory agreements that prevents life loss.”

We are calling for understanding between Cuban and foreign authorities to take into consideration that is time for dialogue and understanding migrants situation and from there to take actions to solve it.”
