‘Dash Cam Captures Dramatic End to Birmingham Police Pursuit’

West Midlands Police have released dramatic dash cam footage of a car chase through Birmingham that ended when officers deliberately collided with the suspect’s vehicle, pinning it to a tree.

The approved tactical manoeuvre is used to stop drivers that pose a danger to the public and was employed only once the suspect had turned down the wrong side of a dual carriageway.

Atif Ayub, 25, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and later jailed for 12 months.
