‘Deadly Tonga Tsunami Leaves Island Totally Cut Off’

The Pacific island of Tonga is reeling after the eruption of a massive underwater volcano.

A huge cloud of steam, gas and ash shot from the sea, and a tsunami emerged in the aftermath.

The eruption was violent enough to send waves crashing towards Hawaii and New Zealand.

Irregular swells were also said to have struck the US’ west coast - over 5,000 miles away.
