‘DEADLY Turkey Mine Explosion Traps Dozens Underground’

At least 28 people have been killed and dozens are trapped after an explosion in a Turkish coal mine.

Roughly 110 miners were down the pit - almost half of them 300m deep - when the blast occurred.

Although the cause is not yet known, initial evidence suggests that the blast was the result of firedamp - methane forming an explosive mixture in coal mines.
