Denmark: Digital 'coronapas' makes a comeback as Denmark faces third wave

The digital ‘coronapas’ has been re-introduced for inside dining in Copenhagen as Denmark looks at a looming third wave of the pandemic, as seen on Friday.

Denmark was one of the few countries to life all restrictions in September following a low rate of infection over the summer. Since October however, the number of daily infections has risen to around 2,300 from just over 200 recorded mid-September.

Tara Mark Andersen, a resident remarked, “I think it’s a good idea to have it back because it’s a way to keep the virus down so I think the government is doing the best they can do.”

The coronapas takes the form of a mobile phone app, and indicates whether a person has been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, or not.

SOT, Tara Mark Andersen (Social Worker): “I think it’s a good idea to have it back because it’s a way to keep the virus down so I think the government is doing the best they can do. It’s a difficult situation and no-one knows how to do it correct.”

SOT, Tara Mark Andersen (Social Worker): “I feel safe about the corona pass coming back, because it’s safe and we have tried it before so I think it’s easy, just to open it again.”
