Donald Trump Pardons: Steve Bannon and Rapper Lil Wayne on Outgoing President's List

On his last day in the White House, Donald Trump has pardoned 73 people charged with federal crimes, in keeping with presidential tradition for outgoing leaders.

Among the list of names was his former advisor Steve Bannon, currently facing trial for defrauding donors at a ‘Build the Wall’ fundraiser. He was fired shortly after Trump took office and was arrested in August last year.

Rapper Lil Wayne received a pardon and there were commutations for rapper Kodak Black and former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, along with 68 other convicts.

While some raised concerns that the president may use his powers to pre-emptively pardon himself ahead of his impeachment trial, this did not come to fruition.
