This is the dramatic moment a river in Bolivia bursts its banks.

In other videos, water can be seen smashing into nearby vehicles. One man appears to narrowly avoid serious injury as he was caught in the rush of water.

Intense rain caused the Huayñajahuira river to overflow in Bolivia’s capital city, La Paz. Bolivia has been hit with a record amount of rainfall since February. Eight of the ten reservoirs that supply water to La Paz are currently overflowing.

Authorities say the floods have caused extensive damage to infrastructure, and have started a cleanup operation.
