SpaceX’s Starship exploded upon return to earth after a high-altitude flight test over Texas.

The prototype exploded in a huge fireball at the company’s site in Cameron County, Texas.

This was the first major test flight for the spacecraft, which SpaceX CEO Elon Musk claims could carry people to Mars in as little as six years.

Musk said the explosion was caused by low pressure of the fuel header tank, and called the incident an RUD, ‘rapid unscheduled disassembly’.
