Dubai salon paints microchips onto nails

A Dubai beauty salon is offering a microchip manicure service, which lets customers carry their personal information on their nails.

“So no need now to have like a physical business card or exchange it, just you have this chip on your nail and you will download all the information that you need in this chip,” explained CEO of Lanour Beauty Lounge Nour Makarem.

It employs the same technology that is used for contactless payments.

First, a gel polish is applied, then the loaded chip is glued down and covered with another layer of nail polish.

According to salon manager Aidana Kudaibergenova there is “a very high demand, and it’s growing every day.” She added, “Our clients are teenagers, also bloggers and business women. We have already made about 500 microchips.”
