As soon as we saw Maya, we knew she was the one, with her googly eyes and her wonky whiskers. We both immediately fell in love. Maya, I need to work. It was the first time either one of us had really agreed on which pet we wanted to adopt. And that’s how we first saw Maya. 

Her pre-adoption story is that she was found in a crate by a dumpster behind a Chinese food restaurant.  She spent over three months in that shelter without having gotten adopted. She was actually put on death row, meaning she was on a 24-hour to-be-destroyed-list for euthanasia. And that’s when The Odd Cat Sanctuary stepped in and brought her up to Massachusetts where they would lead her to us. It was the luckiest thing that could’ve ever happened to us. Maya’s story has reached around the world.

Maya’s just like any other cat. She plays all the time. She sleeps all the time and she will do anything for any amount of food. If we have a house guest, she will try and convince them that she’s starving and that she has any in days. 

Did Maya have dinner?

She loves the attention, as long as you’re looking at her and not touching her. And over time, she has gotten more cuddly with us. It’s really cool how much trust we’ve built up and it’s just so cool to be part of her story.
