Russian Defence Ministry presents the Eternal Patriotic documentary series.

From this serial documentary, the audience will learn about the most important events of the Great Patriotic War, reported on the basis of numerous video chronicles, historical documents of the Russian military archives, as well as the evidence of real participants of crucial events and battles.

Detailed stories, told by famous actors such as Andrei Merzlikin and Sergei Puskepalis, unveil true plans of Nazi Germany and its allies, reconstruct the course of the most important battles, draw pictures of heroism and courage demonstrated by the Red Army warriors’, scrutinize the lives of the Victory Marshals, and that is not even close to it.

The series reflect the historical truth about the early stages of the Great war, the hardest confrontations, the heroism of the Soviet soldiers, partisans and home front workers, round-the-clock work of the Soviet leadership and military command.

The documentary includes little-known stories about young heroes of the Soviet Union, who fought together with the Red Army against Nazi Germany, the memoirs of actors Yuri Nikulin, Vladimir Etush, Anatoly Papanov and Alexei Smirnov who took part in the war.

The last episode of the series tells about the final stage of World War II, when in a few weeks in 1945 the Red Army defeated the Japanese militarists, putting an end to the bloodiest war in human history.
