Ethiopia: Ethiopian Defence Forces offer send-off for newly-recruited soldiers in Addis Ababa

The Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa Adanech Abiebe sent off newly registered army recruits in Addis Ababa on Tuesday.

The fresh recruits were also sent along with hundreds of oxen and sheep sent to the front lines to feed the army.

“I was motivated to join the Ethiopian Army because we have war from two enemies. I am ready to spill my blood for my country. No one should attack my country while I am alive. I am ready to fight for my country,” stated new recruit Alemayehu Dulo.

The new recruits were offered an entertaining show, some live local music and the gratitude of local attendees during their send-off.

“This war that is being waged against us is to stop us from being self-sufficient by the arch enemies of Ethiopia who never sleep. They have opened a proxy war on us by hiring the mercenaries of the Junta,” stated Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa Adanech Abiebe during the ceremony.

Ethiopia is currently at war with the Tigray People Liberation Front and Sudan in the North since November 2020.
