Thousands of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians in Addis Ababa celebrated Epiphany at Jan Meda Church on Wednesday.

“I am very happy to be here. The mood of the holy day is also very nice when I compare it to other years; this holy day is good because our country is not in conflict,” said Tsehaye Teklu, a participant.
Worshippers were sprayed with water hoses during the Epiphany celebration.

UNESCO added the Ethiopian epiphany to the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list in 2009.
