Falcon 9’s second stage on its way to the Moon

On 11 February 2015, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) towards the Sun-Earth Lagrange point L1. DSCOVR reached its intended orbit in about 110 days. Falcon 9’s second stage entered into a high Earth orbit and it is predicted to impact the Moon on 4 March 2022. On 7 February 2022, The Virtual Telescope Project observed the stage tumbling in space, heading towards the Moon.
