Family takes turns sleeping with weak senior dog on the couch

We got Spike from a rescue. When he got older, he can’t go upstairs so well because his legs are too weak. So we just moved downstairs and now we take in turns to sleep downstairs with him on the sofa bed. Spike has been with the family since 2012.

When we went to go and see him before we got him, he was quite shy. But when we took him on a walk, he kept looking back to see that we were still with him. So, we thought he had the potential to be a really great family dog. And when we brought him home and he got comfortable, he’s just so cuddly, he loves to be loved and be close to you all the time. He always slept on the bed. He was originally supposed to be a downstairs dog. But things were going to go his way. 

Now that he’s older and has difficulty going upstairs, the family found a win-win solution by having him sleep on the couch and taking turns with him. He’s happy because he still gets his cuddles and we’re happy because we still get our cuddles.
