A bar in Rome offers coffee and beer decorated with various designs of faces and other images, as seen on Wednesday.
Giganti Bar waiter Gianni Peppe could be seen choosing different designs to decorate the beverages, including the face of Frankenstein’s monster to reference Halloween that took place on Sunday.
“We do it in both cappuccino and beer. It is a machine where customers can print their own photographs [on the coffee or beers] or they give us the photographs previously. [The drawing] is made with orzo malt. It does not alter the taste of the cappuccino or beer at all. We stamp the images to make something more beautiful,” he said.
The Giganti Bar on Campo de Fiori square, near the statue of Giordano Bruno, who was convicted of heresy by the Roman Inquisition in 1600 and burned at the stake.
Locals, as well as tourists, can now enjoy their coffees or beers with Bruno’s face or dozens of other designs drawn on it, among them animals, cartoons, monsters, skulls, phrases and even photographs of the guests themselves.
