‘Former British Guard Caught SPYING for Russia Gets 13 Years in Prison’

A former British security guard at the British Embassy in Berlin has been jailed for spying for Russia.

David Ballantyne Smith, who worked at the embassy since 2016, has been handed 13 years and two months in prison at a sentencing at the Old Bailey.

Mr Justice Wall, said Smith tried to harm Britain’s interests by passing damaging information to Russia, breaching the Official Secrets Act.
