France’s Green Party candidate for the 2022 presidential elections Yannick Jadot presented his electoral program in Paris on Wednesday.

54-year-old Jadot, a member of the European parliament, has 120 proposals in total “for an ecological, social and republican France”.

“We will invest heavily in rebuilding the economy to make it a carbon-free economy, a low-polluting economy, a competitive economy, an economy that takes its place because of its environmental and social responsibility,” said ecologist candidate Jadot.

Jadot was nominated as the candidate of the Europe Ecology - France’s Green Party in September and will run in the presidential elections of April 2022.

SOT, Yannick Jadot, Green candidate for president (French): “One thousand four hundred scientists spoke yesterday to recall the extent to which the climate represents the great challenge for mankind, the great challenge for the French society, and reminded us of what we have been saying for so many years, that the next five-year presidential term cannot once again be one of climate inaction.”

SOT, Yannick Jadot, Green candidate for president (French): “We will invest heavily in rebuilding the economy to make it a carbon-free economy, a low-polluting economy, a competitive economy, an economy that takes its place because of its environmental and social responsibility.”

SOT, Yannick Jadot, Green candidate for president (French): “I invite you to listen to what the right says about ecology, what the rights says about social justice, what the right says about refugees. Think of Valerie Pecresse: she has proposed pulling Karchers (vacuum cleaners) out of the basement to clean up “non-France” neighbourhoods. What do you think “non-France” neighbourhoods mean? What she proposes is called ethnic cleansing.”

SOT, Yannick Jadot, Green candidate for president (French): “The first thing to be done at European level will be to revive what had been the position of the European Parliament: to have a recovery plan financed by the ECB for a total of EUR 2,000 billion. 750 billion, it is interesting from the point of view of the novelty introduced for the recovery plan of a common debt for common investments, but it is absolutely not up to the great challenges of transition for the European Union in terms of energy autonomy, and I am obviously referring to Russia and the “petro-monarchies” of the Persian Gulf.”
