France: Macron appears at Bastille Day parade with limited-attendance

French President Emmanuel Macron was seen arriving on a military jeep at Place de la Concorde, as part of the annual procession celebrating Bastille Day, on Wednesday in Paris.

Macron was joined by his wife Bridget Macron in the crowd of spectators, as thousands of military personnel marched in formation, whilst the famous Patrouille Acrobatique de France (PAF) flew the colours of the country’s flag overhead.

The traditional parade took place after having been scaled back last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, though a large perimeter around the Champs Elysees was closed to the public to avoid crowds during the parade.
