Gazprom and the Chinese company CNPC have signed a technical agreement on the Power of Siberia 3 gas pipeline. This will be the second route for Russian gas supplies to China. The offshore Yuzhno-Kirinskoye field, whose reserves are estimated at 814.5 billion cubic meters of gas, will become the resource base of the MGP.
The design production capacity is 21 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The agreement on the supply of gas from the Far East under the MGP Power of Siberia 3 provides for the export to China of up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Together with the Power of Siberia, the Far East route will allow China to supply 48 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
