Demonstrations in Washington DC have turned violent over the weekend after several days of unrest across the US.
Fires have been started and every member of Washington DC’s National Guard -roughly 1,700 soldiers - were called to control the protests.
On Friday, Donald Trump is believed to have been rushed to a bunker by the Secret Service for his protection as hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the White House.
Crowds returned Sunday afternoon, facing off against police at Lafayette Park into the evening.
Trump tweeted anyone trying to enter the presidential residence could be “greeted” with “the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons”.
