Berliners reacted to the ‘2G’ regulation which came into force on Monday and which only allow vaccinated and recovered persons to enter certain facilities, such as restaurants, theatres, gyms, and night clubs.
Berlin has introduced the measures in a bid to help curb rising infection rates and reduce pressure on hospitals.

SOT, Berlin resident (German): “I find this quite good, I’m vaccinated myself, and that’s why, when inside, I would feel much better if there are 2G rules. Even when you get tested you still can’t be sure you don’t have the corona virus. Of course you can spread it even if you’re vaccinated, but the probability is much lower, so I honestly think it’s better and I think it’s a good decision.”
SOT, Berlin resident (German): “Taking into account the rising numbers I find it reasonable, but I also can understand people who are not vaccinated. Me myself, I’m vaccinated, so it’s good for me, but it would be even better if there were free tests again, if would make some things easier, and people would probably get tested more often.”
SOT, Jannie, Berlin resident (German): “But we are in a pandemic, I think that everybody should probably give up something for the whole society, for all people, we can win against it together, but we need to stick together for this.”
