Germany: Demonstrators mark 15th death anniv of journalist Anna Politkovskaya in Berlin

A group of activists gathered outside the Russian embassy in Berlin on Thursday, to mark the 15th anniversary of the murder of Russian investigative journalist Anna Politkovskaya.
Members of Amnesty International and Reporter Ohne Grenzen (Reporters Without Borders) paid tribute to the late reporter. Actress Sarah Maria Sander read an excerpt of one of Politkovskaya’s books.
Christian Mihr from Reporters Without Borders praised Politkovskaya as ‘intrepid’, while he stressed the need to find out the truth about the journalist’s murder.
Politkovskaya, who reported about human rights violations in Chechnya, was shot to death in the lift of her apartment building in Moscow, on October 7, 2006.
