Germany: Hundreds protest against vaccine mandate and COVID restrix in Berlin

Nearly 200 people took to the street in Berlin on Sunday to protest against the current German anti-COVID measures and vaccine mandates for certain professions.

Protesters started gathering in front of the Berlin Zoo and started marching with signs and banners with slogans such as, ‘No to the vaccination apartheid’ and ‘Freedom of choice in vaccination.’

A high number of police officers guarded the protest. No arrests have been made, and no disturbances were recorded.

The newly elected German government had recently announced the plan to put a nationwide vaccination mandate up to a parliamentary vote and decided on making vaccinations obligatory for health workers from March onward.
